The Little Glass Slipper or Cinderella
Brian Richmond reads 'The Little Glass Slipper ( Cinderella )' by Charles Perrault
Season 2 of Dads Read Princess Stories is all about Cinderella!
Originally in French, Charles Perrault's 'The Little Glass Slipper' is what most folks have come to know as Cinderella.
Translated into English, listen to Brian Richmond read this classic tale.
Brian is the proud father of Celine and Jacob Richmond and the equally proud grandfather of Renee, Spencer and Ira. He is known by his children and grandchildren as one who insisted from an early age that they think deeply about the meaning of any story. This sometimes resulted in him choosing possibly slightly too advanced stories for them: like the time he took Celine and Jake to 'Love and Death' when they were aged 6 and 4 respectively. His name is often misspelled as Brain - a nickname he insists is ill-deserved. He has worked in the theatre in Canada and abroad in various capacities for more than (my god!) half a century. In 2008 he founded and continues to serve as the Artistic Director of Victoria’s Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre. As a freelance director he has directed over 150 productions for theatres across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. Nominated 13 times with 3 wins for Toronto's Dora Awards, Brian has also been nominated for several lifetime achievement awards including those offered by the Governor General’s office and National Critic’s Association.
